6 Days Rwanda and Uganda experience

Start historical-minded exploration of Kigali city with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times. Memorial site where over 259,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves, Dr. Richard Kandt Museum who was the first Germany explorer to settle in Kigali, Belgian camp where they killed the 10 Belgian UN soldiers who were protecting the moderate prime minister before the start of genocide

Transfer to Akagera National Park. Arrival and proceed to the sunset boat cruise to see the schools of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, different bird species, etc. Overnight: – Akagera Game Lodge

Early breakfast followed by the Game drive in search of the big 5 animals i.e. Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant, get opportunity to see over 12 species of antelopes, over 525 species of birds including the rare ones such as the shoe bill stock, papyrus gynolek, to mention but a few. The park has the highest concentration of birds per square kilometer, very beautiful undulating landscapes, high species numbers and endemic species plus historical and cultural sites inside the park.

Transfer back to Kigali_ scheba Hotel

Breakfast and transfer to Bwindi National Park, overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp

Early morning transfer to Volcanoes National Park, arrival and completing park formalities then embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first.

Be back at the base in time for lunch! Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy.

Transfer to Musanze. Overnight at Ste Anne Hotel

Breakfast and transfer to Nyungwe headquarters for briefing then proceed to the waterfall hike or choose to do the canopy walk way.

Overnight: -Gisakura Guesthouse

Early breakfast at 4:30am then drive to the edge of the forest where chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe starts.

In the afternoon, Transfer back to Kigali
