10 Days Best of Uganda Primate and wildlife safari

Upon your time of arrival, we shall pick you up and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for

overnight and relaxation.

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Uganda’s best savanna national park via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a short walk/safari to see the white Rhinos. Expect to have lunch en-route and stop for a lot of photo sessions when necessary.

After breakfast we shall go for a morning safari in Murchison falls national park where we expect to see a lot of wildlife such as lions, leopards, bufallos, elephants, antelopes, lots of birds and after noon boat trip on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the world’s most powerful waterfall is a must do. An optional hike to the top of the falls is also possible that will reward you with amazing views of the Uhuru and Murchison falls.

After breakfast we shall embark on our long drive to the primate capital of East Africa [Kibale Forest national park] via the Albert escarpment that will reward you with amazing views and a touch of the African village’s lookout. On a good day, if the weather is clear enough we expect to view the Blue Mountains in the DRC. En-route we shall have a stopover in Hoima central market for a walk around the market and buy some fruits for our en-route snacks. We shall also learn about the different organic Ugandan foods that will enlighten us on what the Ugandan delicacy looks like.

On this day we shall meet and greet the chimps that are close to the human race and view quite a number of other monkeys such as the red colobus, black and white colobus, mangabeys, blue monkeys and lots of birdlife. After the swamp walk we shall either decide to do a swamp walk in Bigodi or a community local food preparation and have a taste of the organic food delicacy.

Today we shall drive to the melody of wonders that will reward you with amazing landscapes and once in a lifetime afternoon launch trip that will bring you close to the African wildlife that dwell along the Kazinga channel that connect lakes George and Edward. En-route we shall have a good view of the Rwenzori mountains and visit the Kiwa hot springs to have a bathe in a local underground warm pool. Expect lunch en-route and an evening safari to spot some wildlife in the savanna

We shall leave the hotel early morning for a safari through the north of Queen Elizabeth to increase our chances of spotting the shyest African cats in their savanna habitat and drive through Ishasha the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth that’s famous for the tree climbing lions and continue with the transfer to the Mountain gorilla forest. We expect to have lunch en-route and check into our hotel later in the evening as we catch the amazing sunsets over the bwindi impenetrable rainforest.

The long awaited day is here when we shall encounter the Grorilla forest to meet and greet with the world’s most gentle primates in one of the dense tropical rainforests of the world that will reward you with once in a lifetime unending smiles and memories after setting eyes on the massive ‘Mountain Gorillas’. The trekking is never easy or hard, it’s always fun walking through the jungle and experiencing what life is like in the forest. The hike may be short or long depending on the Gorilla movements. We shall then drive on to Lake Bunyonyi after the trekking and stay at one of the scenic lodges around the Kigezi highlands that will reward us with a lot of views and sunsets.

Encounter the canoe challenge as you paddle around the lake with a dug-out canoe that will give a journey to remember. Visit the punishment island where ladies were tied on a lone tree and left to starve to death if they got pregnant before marriage. Paddle back to the hotel for lunch and drive through the famously know Switzerland of Africa to encounter the unique wildlife in Lake Mburo national park that is exclusive to this small savanna park and have a full package of wildlife memories from the pearl of Africa

Accommodation at Rwakobo Rock lodge/ Eagles Nest lodge

Early morning village walk/ walking safari in the park to interact with the unique wildlife in lake Mburo such as Zebras, Giraffe, Impalas, Topis, Warthogs and lots of birdlife. Alternatively you can do a community walk or cycling through the villages to see the long horned Ankole cows and experience part of the Ankole culture. Return to the lodge for breakfast and transfer to Entebbe/ Kampala with a stopover at the equator for some photos and souvenir shopping with a bag full of memories encountered in the African nature
