12 Days Best Of Uganda Impressions Safari

Our Journey out of Entebbe will begin with the morning transfer to Murchison Falls National park located on the north west of Uganda about 300kms away from Kampala. En-route Murchison you will embark on a walking safari trekking the Rhinos on foot with a ranger guide at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The drive to ziwa takes about 3hours from Kampala while rhino trekking takes roughly 2 hours. We plan lunch en-route after Rhino trekking and later embark on a 2 Hours drive to Murchison Via Kachumbanyobo Gate. The Lodge towards the lodge presents a wilderness welcome with different species of wildlife to encounter. Its more of woodland vegetation while our lodge tonight is strategically located Overlooking the Silent flowing river Nile.

After an early Breakfast, We will embark on an early morning game drive that takes us next to the Lake Albert. For an early morning drive there is a lot of wildlife to see and spectate at. Murchison falls is endowed with spectacular wildlife with lots to see in abundance. The Wildlife feed while getting closer to the water sources and these include Elephants, Giraffes, Heartbeasts, antelopes, buffalos, lions, leopards, oribis and so much more.  Later we will drive to Paraa restaurant for lunch while getting ready for the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls with so much water life animals like hippos, crocks, elephants, buffalos quenching their thirst with many birds’ species. While at the bottom of the falls, you shall embark off the boat and hike to the top of the falls with spectacular Scenic views. Drivers shall tranverse till the top to meet you and drive back to the lodge for a cold beer winding off the day.

Today, We will start with a relaxed Breakfast and embark on a journey to the home of the chimpanzees_Kibale National park. This is quite a long drive and should take about 7 – 8 hours drive that includes lunch breaks. There is a lot of nature, local life and great scenery to spectate at as we drive but definitely an interesting drive throught the lush green and still virgin tea plantations of western Uganda.

            Overnight : Turraco tree tops or Kyanninga Lodge

After a relaxed breakfast, We will embark on a 10 minutes drive to bigodi swamp nearby – an eco-community site famous for the nice swamp walk. Expect to see different kinds of monkeys and many endemic bird species and plants. The guided nature walk takes about 2-3 hours depending on sightings and walking pace. After the walk, you will then have a hot lunch at the lodge and prepare for the chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park in the afternoon. The chimpanzee trekking involves walking in search of chimpanzees with a ranger guide in the rainforest, an activity that takes between 3-4 hours. You shall be allowed an hour with The Chimpanzees_ Humans closest Relatives while your ranger guide will give you vast information about these great apes.  After the Trek you will then Head back to the lodge and wind off the day’s Memory to a cold beer while you watch the sun set or on a camp fire.

Today after a relaxed Breakfast, We will embark on slow scenic drive through the beautiful crater lakes of fortportal as we proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Drive is refreshing and rewarding in the same way. Later you shall embark on the next journey to Queen Elizabeth national park while our Lodge strategically located presents an amazing 180 degrees  scenic view over the national park. Along the swimming pool that overlooks the plains would be a perfect place to relax off the minds or prefer to share stories over the camp fire.

            Overnight: Mazike Lodge/Katara Lodge or Kyambura Gorge Lodge

On this morning after an early breakfast, we will drive to Kasenyi plains for the morning game drive. The queen Elizabeth is a bio-diverse national park with so much to see. The kasenyi plains are famously known for the Cat family as a specialty to see here. Lions, leopards are a sighting here with much more game to see including the giant Elephants in big herds. The game drive takes about 4 hours and you shall later transfer to mweya peninsula for the afternoon kazinga boat cruise. The Kazinga channel is a 40km connecting water body for lake George and lake Edward populated with vibrant wildlife encountered on a close range. Expect to see lots and lots of schools of hippos, elephants, buffalos, crocodiles, bird species, lions or more so leopards. This cruise takes about 2 hours and takes you to the mouth of lake Edward.  Upon your return, we will then drive to the lodge for our overnight.

            Overnight: Mazike Lodge/Katara Lodge or Kyambura Gorge Lodge

On this Morning after a relaxed breakfast and pool overlooking the savannah plains, We will today start a lazy drive to Ishasha, The southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area is known for its vibrant wildlife and the famous tree climbing lions. We shall arrive in time for lunch and later head for a sundowner game drive in the ishasha plains. We expect to see elephants, buffalos, antelopes, hogs, hippos, lions, leopards and much more. Later relax for a sundowner before we retire to our lodge.

On this morning after a relaxed breakfast, we will Depart for Bwindi impenetrable National park and in Nkuringo to be specific. The drive takes about 5 traversing through the forest and a section of a possibility to walk through the forest for those that would like to walk through the forest to Nkuringo while others can drive with the jeeps to traverse. Driving presents very good scenic drives with spectacular rolling hills and calm forest sounds. Its quit bumpy but very rewarding. Our Lodge is Nkuringo Lodge set on the backdrop of Nteko Ridge overlooking the Bwindi Forest and the famous Virunga Volcanoes.

            Overnight: Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla lodge or Clouds Lodge

The Day for the mountain Gorilla trekking is here: After having an early breakfast, we will proceed to the briefing point of the Gorillas. And later embark on the ultimate wildlife encounter – Uganda’s pride. The gorillas are gentle, they are sweet, they are helpful to each other with the young ones. A moment with them defines no distinction that exists between human and man and yes a one on one with the great apes is a rewarding experience and a lifetime Adventure. The Whole experience lies on the effort put in to find the great giants. You shall have a one hour with them and then embark on a journey back to the starting point.

            Overnight: Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla lodge or Clouds Lodge

After a relaxed Breakfast, we will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi _ The second deepest lake in Africa estimated at 900m deep and snakes around 29 islands. We will also enjoy a dugout canoe ride and coffee tour on the surroundings of Lake Mutanda. We will learn how local coffee is planted, harvested, prepared, roasted and later have a cup of local Mountain Gorilla Coffee. Later, We will take on a 2.5hours drive and arrive in time for lunch. We can later embark on a canoe/boat cruise on the lake bunyonyi and arrive back to the lodge in time for a barbeque Dinner on campfire overlooking the beautiful lake.

            Overnight: Arcadia Cottages or Birdnest Resort

Today we will plan a relaxed breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Descending down the rolling hills of Uganda past jaw-dropping landscapes and villages. Along the way, we plan to have a local Ugandan meal, prepared to you in a typical African Home and in a typical African/Ugandan Surrounding. We will be sharing on a Luwombo meal, a Healthy and typical Ugandan delicacy. We will later proceed to our next detination and be able to arrive in time at lake Mburo for relax. Rwakobo rock is a great lodge located on the Outscarts of Lake Mburo amidst rock kopges with a swimming pool overlooking the lake Mburo. We shall embark on a game drive later in the evening with lots to see. Lake Mburo is one of the smallest national parks in Uganda but with the highest density of animals per square kilometer. Lion, leopards, giraffes, home to zebras, hippos, buffalos, elands, topi’s and much more. Return to lodge

            Overnight: Rwakobo Rock or Mihingo Lodge

Today morning after a relaxed breakfast.  We will embark on activities in the morning as we plan to drive back to Entebbe. You shall embark on a guided & rewarding walking Safari, a wildlife encounter that brings you closer to the wildlife with a ranger guide in the wildlife rich but calm Lake Mburo National park. And if you are sportive, you can go for a bike safari with a ranger guide Later, We will all checkout of the lodge and head to Entebbe with a stop at the equator for a photo moments and souvenirs (if you want to). With time enough time, we will arrive in time for dinner, De-Briefing and later the international airport for your connection flight.
